It
has been increasingly felt that in order to promote the philosophy
and mission of Scientific Personnel Selection and other related
issues, the institute apart from continuing to contribute to
the existing areas, must also provide wide variety of extension
services related to personnel selection and human resource development/human
resource management.
We are extending the scope of our services without losing sight
of what we are about. Some of the areas in which the institute
is now venturing are,
1. Offering Comprehensive package of services to PSB's
and other client Organisations.
2. Propagating the Concept and methodology of "Assessment
Centre" by helping organisations in establishing and developing
these centres, and by offering series of programmes on "identification
and development of managerial talent". The programmes, apart
from familiarizing the participants with these concepts, help
them broaden the skills of observation, evaluation, recording
behavioral dimensions.
3. Series of training workshops for executives on "interviewing
skills".
4. Training programmes in the fields of performance appraisal,
counseling services, performance counseling, team-building and
organisation development.
5. Manpower planning and organisation restructuring.
6. Setting up reference library of psychological and educational
tests.
7. Undertaking sponsored research projects in the areas
of,
- Job analysis and identification of characteristics
to be assessed.
- Effectiveness of the selection strategy through
follow-up studies.
- Development of computer Systems related to
pre-examination and post examination
processing.
- Study of composition of competing and finally
selected candidates study of "Test-bias"
in relation to sex, discipline, socio-economic status, etc.
- Reliability, Validity, Norms and other psychometric
properties of the tests
