As a breakthrough initiative, IBPS
introduced the concept of Common Written Exam (CWE) for Officer
and Clerical cadres.
This model is developed to reduce the time line in the recruitment
cycle of banks. The candidates are to take test only once to
be eligible for all public sector banks and the banks have talent
'On Tap' with IBPS score card. We have conducted the CWE for
Officer cadre and have received an overwhelming response from
candidates as well as the19 participating Public Sector Banks.
The CWE for Officer cadre was held on 18th September, 2011 at
3157 venues simultaneously pan India. 14,65,945 candidates registered
for CWE out of 10,42,484 candidates appeared. The result of
candidates will be on display in the second week of December,
2011. Moving ahead with this tremendous response, we have also
introduced the Common Written Examination for Clerical cadre.
This exam is being held in November and December across the
nation. The total number of candidates registered for this exam
is 43,14,315. The exam is in progress. Through the platform
of CWE, candidates can apply to the bank/s of their choice at
the same time on the basis of the score card.
